When considering In Vitro Fertilization, IVF, the most important factor they consider are the IVF donor success rates.
According to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, or SART,
IVF “Of all infertility treatments available IVF offers the highest
chance of success per cycle.” This is great news for women considering
infertility options!
IVF donor
success rates vary but can range between 30-67% depending on a variety
of factors. Some factors include reason for infertility, the lab you use
for treatment, the type of egg you choose (donor or own) and age.
Age
of the egg recipient seems to have a strong influence on the IVF donor
success rates. The younger you are, the better odds you have for a
successful IVF live birth – but women can receive treatment until age
50. (View detailed success rates)
Using donor eggs, as opposed to your own frozen eggs, provide for a
higher success rate – closer to the 67%. Whether frozen or fresh eggs
are used, donor eggs seem to have higher success rates.
The
number of eggs transferred during IVF can also impact success rates.
There is a fine line here though, as the more eggs you transfer does not
increase the odds automatically for IVF success. In fact, after the
recipient reached 35 years old the increased eggs does not increase the
odds of success, but does increase the odds of giving birth to multiple
children!
Where you have your IVF
done, can also be a factor in your IVF success. Some clinics are more
experienced and have better success rates than others, be sure to
research the clinic you choose before committing to one.
IVF
has been around since 1978 and has made great strides in technology
since then! Success rates are higher than ever, but there are still some
factors to consider before choosing IVF as your infertility treatment.
After you and your doctor have discussed some of the above listed
success factors, you can then discuss your treatment plan and your
individual success rate.
Yes many researches have proved that success rate of IVF is greater than all other fretility treatments. This is the reason of popularity of IVF.
